Atomic energy technology, politics, and perceptions from a nuclear energy insider who served as a US nuclear submarine engineer officer

The Atomic Show #049 – Atomic ramblings – DTE new plant, TXU coal, etc

February 14, 2007 By Rod Adams

The atomic geeks ramble from DTE’s recent announcement of a site license application plan to TXU coal, to small atomic plants of the 1950s. Enjoy the ride!

Rod and Shane discuss a variety of topics including DTE’s recent announcement of a plan to apply for a new nuclear plant site license (quite a change from the company position of five years ago), TXU’s plan to build as many as 15 new coal fired power plants in Texas, the first privately constructed nuclear plant in the US at Vallecitos, CA and the potential to build modern plants that fit in nicely with the countryside.
