Thought Provoking Discussion About Nuclear Public Relations and Emotional Responses
Green Leaf Report has a thoughtful post about nuclear power, its public perception, and the way that some people have an immediate, negative response to the idea of increased use of nuclear technologies. The author even uses one of my favorite phrases – fear, uncertainty and doubt (aka FUD) – to describe the kind of publicity that often results from any kind of issue at a nuclear power facility.
The author is an apparently an engineer involved in wind energy, but she knows some nukes and former nukes and is pretty sure that not all of what she has heard or read about nuclear energy is true. As you might imagine, I looked at this post as an opportunity to engage, perhaps you will join me in the discussion.
