During episode number 22, Shane and I begin with a rant about people like George Monbiot, the author of a recent article titled Sure, nuclear power is safer than in the past – but we still don’t need it. Our big beef is that he accepts a fossil fuel industry supported notion that it is somehow going to be possible to capture and bury CO2 from their facilities. At the same time he states that it would be a mistake to believe that it is possible to safely store nuclear fuel by-products.
We make reference to some ideas from an article about waste titled The Energy Challenge and the special edition of The Atomic Show when I interviewed Mary Mycio, the author of Wormwood Forest.
Hope you enjoy the passion; we got a little excited during this show. Shane even used the term “BS”. Wow!
