Drax – a large coal fired plant in the UK – faces direct action protests

Time is a bit short this morning, but I wanted to point out an interesting situation in the UK. Apparently there is a large and growing gathering of protesters that want to force at least a temporary shutdown of a coal fired power plant that currently supplies about 7% of the UK’s annual electricity consumption.

You can find out a lot more at Green protesters gather to close ‘Drax the Destroyer’ published 31 August by the The Independent Online. This looks like a story worth watching.
