Atomic energy technology, politics, and perceptions from a nuclear energy insider who served as a US nuclear submarine engineer officer

Best argument I have heard for NOT looking to conservation as THE solution to energy woes

July 11, 2006 By Rod Adams

Many of you are aware of the Potential Energy Blog that is a summer 2006 project of The Institute of Physics. I have been enjoying the work of the three main contributors to the effort and have added quite a few of my own comments to the entries. (I am sure that you are surprised to learn that I had something to say in an energy debate. (Grin))

One of the recent entries is one that I think is really special and worth reading. The post, written by Gia Milinovich and titled Yin and Yang it strikes at the heart of the philosophy that humans need to “save the planet” by “conserving” energy. My take away is that such a goal is unworkable and unnatural. Read the post and form your own opinion.
