Will be catching up with advanced and small reactor innovators in Atlanta
Nuclear Energy Insider, a UK based trade publication and conference organizer that shares an acronym name with the Nuclear Energy Institute, will be holding its 7th annual early spring event focusing on small and advanced reactors.
The Summit includes a face-paced, two day agenda on March 30-31. The venue is the conveniently located Westing Buckhead, far enough outside of downtown Atlanta to be readily accessible with nearby restaurants and evening entertainment establishments. Atlanta is close to the geographic center of the US nuclear energy deployment.
Aside: This meeting’s location is especially convenient for me. One of my USNA buddies lives in Buckhead, within a 10 minute drive of the Westin. End Aside.
I’ve attended the majority of the Nuclear Energy Insider’s advanced/small modular reactor gatherings. I’m looking forward to this year’s edition with some extra anticipation. I cannot wait to hear development updates from GEH, NuScale, Terrestrial Energy and Moltex. All of them should have news to report about their efforts to get their products approved for use.
I look forward to talking with NRC representatives about their recently released framework for advanced reactor licensing, hearing from Rita Baranwal about the future of the GAIN initiative and gaining insights from EPRI, Third Way, Nuclear Innovation Alliance and Nuclear Infrastructure Council.
Southern Company, Tennessee Valley Authority, Ontario Power Generation, UAMPS and Energy Northwest will provide updates on the power generation market, the challenges they face and the future prospects that they envision.
If you are planning to attend, please take the time to look me up and say hello. It’s always great to meet with readers face to face.
